Integrate your communication online
You have your core site. You have microsites and blogs. You may have mobile-optimized sites. You may have banner ads. You're probably on Facebook and Twitter, too. In fact, today, you could be on a vast number of online properties spread right across the world. Pretty soon this results in your core site not matching your microsites, and your blog not matching your Facebook page (and don't even get us started on mobile).
It means that customers get a different view of your brand on the core site than they do on your Facebook page, or Twitter. The customer, of course, doesn't view it this way as they see the same brand throughout. So by delivering different content and user experiences on different sites and platforms, customers soon become confused about who you are, making it difficult for them to choose you over competition.
Three rules to remember
There are three simple truths we should remember:
- Simplicity wins over complexity (every time)
- Easy beats hard
- Low effort leads to higher sales
