Quality and competence - in focus on OKG’s website

The objective was to create a robust and easily administered website that, in each detail, radiates the competence and quality at the core of OKG's business. A new website based on EPiServer, where Meridium was responsible for the development, and the technical maintenance of the web platform. A clear and simple website with well adjusted functionality giving the public relations people the time to concentrate on the contents and to communicate with the company's surroundings.

Functionality in design and CMS platform

Quality and competence were the focus for OKG's new website. With a conservative and functional design, objective editorial content and a functional web platform in EPiServer, the result was a website that conveys trust and that provides a hub in the company's external communication.
OKG is in some ways a bit of an unusual company, in that they do not sell their own products. The company is owned by E.On Sweden and Fortum, and it delivers all produced electrical power to both owners relative to their respective ownership shares. In total, OKG produces nearly 10 percent of all electrical power produced in Sweden.
"There is no ambition to 'sell' anything via our website, it is purely a hub of information and communication," says Hélène Gunnarsson at OKG, "Many people are, for various reasons, interested in our business and we feel that it is important that we are open and approachable to society with information about our business."
When OKG came up with the idea of starting a project for a new website, the first stage was to search for other websites that inspired us and responded well to a number of criteria that the working team had produced. When we had fished out a few that everybody liked and asked which system they used, EPiServer came up as a strong contender.
.Net an important consideration

"When we contacted Meridium and saw their competence and experience of using EPiServer and .Net as a basis, any doubts we might have had vanished into thin air."
The version of OKG's new home page will gradually be extended with additional functionality, such as registering for newsletters , ordering material and brochures, and most importatnt to communicate more directly with visitors, i.e. through the opportunity to ask questions.
"We have chosen to handover continuous development and the technical maintenance of the website to Meridium. This gives us more time to concentrate on developing the content," concludes Hélène Gunnarsson.
