Securitas found what they were looking for in EPiServer CMS, a platform that could strengthen their brand for customers, personnel and marketing purposes.
Securitas is a global leader in security. With over 250,000 employees, Securitas is active in more than 30 countries, mainly in Europe and North America. Securitas previously had around thirty different web solutions, with different countries having their own information. This was not efficient, nor was it good for the Securitas brand. Securitas started looking for a CMS solution that would help them to strengthen their global brand, increase customer focus and improve support for recruiting new staff, for which the website is an important channel. As Securitas is represented in so many different countries, it was extremely important to find a solution that could support their needs for local customisation. Another important aspect was to have a platform that web editors could easily work with.
The schedule for selecting, building and implementing the new website was very bold, with the goal being to complete the project in seven months. Securitas chose to take on a web editor's role for the project to be successful. "We chose Episerver CMS because the platform is so user-friendly - local web editors could start using it immediately. We simply viewed the situation through a web editor's spectacles and chose a solution that they would feel comfortable with. Otherwise the project would have been impossible," comments Securitas CIO Sune Nanberg.
In order for the website to be a success after it was launched, it was necessary for an administrative organisation to manage it. Securitas had no full-time employees working on the content as they all had other jobs to deal with, so it was very important for Securitas to find a user-friendly platform.
Securitas settled on EPiServer CMS, which is simple to use and is a scalable platform. The simplicity of EPiServer CMS for editors greatly impressed Securitas. "The simplicity was clearly demonstrated when, after just two training sessions, we were able to publish content, stick to schedules and maintain content in all our countries. I was really impressed by EPiServer CMS," says Sune Nanberg, CIO Securitas.
A large number of departments are involved in such a large project. At Securitas, it was Corporate Communications that initiated the project together with the management team. One person from each country was also involved in the project to gain support for its implementation. The IT department was, of course, involved, but did not take a leading role. The project has the extra benefit that Corporate Communications and IT started to cooperate better than previously.
Efficiency has increased dramatically, and now Securitas can create a new website in less than a month at no extra cost when they enter new markets. Strengthening the customer experience on the web was very important for Securitas. The previous website had a financial focus and was not at all suitable for communicating with the target groups that they know visit their website. Today, the customer experience is completely different. Information on the site is localized, depending on the country the visitor comes from, making it easy to find relevant offers and information.
Securitas is also seeing an increase in the quality of content since they changed platform. Today, they can link the sales range in different countries via the web, which promotes sales and supports the Securitas business. The brand is growing stronger and the customer offer clearer, as Securitas is now communicating with a single voice.
The new website has helped to improve the recruitment of new staff, as information is now readily available. The sharing of information between sections and countries is also improved, as it is now easy to see what information other departments and countries are adding to the site. Securitas can now benefit from its global presence and offer its customers exciting new solutions.
