The idyllic town of Marstrand, nestled in the Gothenburg archipelago on the west coast of Sweden and world-reknowned among sailors as home of the Swedish Match Cup, was the scene of EPiServer Challenge 2007. The event went international this year, with teams participating from the UK, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
Following lunch and a brief overview of the rules and regulations of the regatta by Former Champ Johan Olsson, the teams were divided into two groups for qualifying heats. From those who had never been on a sailboat before to those who have competed internationally, the idea was to push the limits and see just what's possible with a bit of teamwork. |

Each group competed in two qualifying heats on Express boats on a reach (upwind) /run (downwind) course. Each race consisted of two laps of the course followed by a final upwind leg to the finish line. Based on the results of the qualification heats, the teams were then placed into either Group A or Group B final.
Emerging victorious this year was team Rufus Leonard from the UK, skippered by Jack Fraser with crew Lucy Kay, Chayter Sowerby and Peter Barker. 2nd place was won by Addmind of Sweden crewed by Richard Iohnson, Mia Gothenby, Malin Andersson and Gustaf Snöbohm. KnowIT of Sweden captured 3rd place with crew Thomas Engström, Fredrik Abrahamson, Niklas Rask and Per Wallentin. |
