 Job Purpose: As the Director of North American Marketing, you will manage, direct and oversee the regional marketing function, team and associated discretionary budget, which includes leading team members focused on regional execution, partner marketing, events, and business development in support of new business pipeline. You will be responsible for 60% of the marketing influenced sales pipeline, supported by central always-on digital and corporate marketing activates (40%). Your remit will cover:   

  • Local hooks to get people into the always-on programs
  • Influencers relations – identify, prime and build relationships
  • Alliance relations – joint activities and campaigns, account mapping
  • Developer relations – inform developers, create a community through meetups
  • Channel partner relations - inform, build relationships, engage key partners in joint activities, and create a vibrant and loyal community
  • Prospect outreach - events, emails, account based targeting, local communities such as LinkedIn groups, social advertisement for specific audiences, content syndication

You must be a metrics driven individual with a deep understanding of the funnel. You will need to develop and maintain a strong collaboration and partnership with the head of North American Sales, and the head of North American Partner Development as your main peers, as well as demonstrable ability to operate in a highly distributed environment (e.g. the digital and corporate marketing team is split between the USA and Europe). You will also have overall management and budgetary responsibility for regional marketing programs and teams, which will include the “demand” generation and “execution” activities principally for the USA and Canada. As such, you will be responsible for a discretionary budget in excess of $1 million, and directly manage a team of five (5) in house employees, as well as external vender parties.


Essential Requirements:

The position of Director, North American Marketing plays a pivotal role within the Marketing and Sales Departments. The position’s responsibilities require in-depth understanding of the company’s market, partner ecosystem, and the company’s global reputation worldwide. The successful candidate will be involved in arming the sales team with a growing pipeline of opportunities and a minimum quarterly cover a ratio of 3X. The position requires someone who is comfortable modern digital techniques, and understands how different marketing technology can be combined to create forward leaning, technology driven marketing. The position requires someone to be very numbers and metrics driven, and who leads from the front to help execute; skills that will be favoured over more traditional marketing techniques or creative talent. 7 years’ experience of leading winning marketing teams

  • Proven ability to manage discretionary budgets in excess of $5M
  • Education to Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Outstanding skills in written and verbal communication.
