EPiServer CMS 4 or EPiServer CMS 5 - Which version should I choose when attending a course?

When you are faced with choosing a course it is important that the course you take uses the same version as the one you have at your office. In our range of courses we can offer you courses in both EPiServer 4 and EPiServer CMS 5. EPiServer CMS 5 is our latest version of EPiServer. What then are the differences between these versions of our courses?

For you who are an editor:

If you are attending the Basic Editor Training, the contents is the same for both versions. You as an editor will not see any major differences when it comes to functions or editing the pages. The new version has a new interface, but if you have EPiServer CMS 4 you will recognize most parts of it. This means that you can take a course in EPiServer CMS 5 even if you have a solution built upon EPiServer CMS 4 and vice versa.

In Advanced Editor Training we have changed the contents of the course for the newer version, CMS 5. The course Advanced Editor Training is and has been a course where we, among other things, go through all the templates that come with the standard solution of EPiServer. Since there are different templates in the newer version of EPiServer as in the older one, the contents has changed quite a lot. In order to benefit fully from the course when you are back at your workplace, we recommend that you take the course with the right EPiServer version.

For you who are an Webmaster:

The Administrator Training in EPiServer has the same contents in both versions. But here it is extremely important that you choose the course with the right version, since you handle many of the EPiServer functions in a completely different way in CMS 5 than in EPiServer 4.  

For you who are a developer:

We have courses for you who have never before developed in EPiServer, E2450 - Developing with EPiServer CMS 4 and E2550 - Developing with EPiServer CMS 5. Here we strongly recommend that you choose the version that you will build the solution upon. Please observe that E2550 - Developing with EPiServer CMS 5 is not a course in upgrading! You will learn the same things as in E2450 - Developing with EPiServer CMS 4, but with the new version.

These courses will upgrade your knowledge if you have worked in EPiServer 4 earlier and now have switched to EPiServer CMS 5.
