House of Sweden is opened in Washington D.C. and the new Web site www.houseofsweden.com is launched!
The first House of Sweden, or Sverigehus, has been opened abroad, with the Swedish embassy
and The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise under the same roof. The building houses a new Swedish arena in USA - a different kind of embassy building with offices, 19 apartments and an Event Center in the same building. The House of Sweden was opened October 23, 2006, by the Swedish Royal family.
The house is presented on the Web with the new Web site www.houseofsweden.com. The Web site has been built by Funka Nu in cooperation with the design house, Volt. The Web site was ordered by the Swedish National Property Board (SFV), who also owns the building. It was important for SFV to unite the strict graphical form from Volt with good accessibility.
"It was natural to us that the Web site be accessible and built according to modern standards. This also reflects how we work with our properties. We opted for Funka Nu, as we knew that they were competent in the field of accessibility. We had previously had good experience with them when working on our own Web site", says Sofia Meurk at SFV.
