Jusek - Member Requirement Control

www.jusek.se

A few years ago the Web site of the professional association Jusek consisted of isolated, unorganized pages. Today it is a well structured Web site that is directly linked to the member’s register of the association.

The change has brought many advantages with it. The information is more comprehensive and easier to find and members can login and sign up for courses or update their personal data themselves. In addition, it has become easier for Sven Kullberg, responsible for the Web site, and his employees to reach Jusek's members.

– As the Web site is linked to the member’s register we are able to carry out surveys and send relevant e-mails via the Web. We are also working towards creating customized start pages for different groups of members.

Today students and bosses alike have their own start pages. These can be increased in the future. They can also look different depending on where the member is working.

–It comes down to the requirement of the customer and how many pages we can fill with useful information, says Sven Kullberg.

Different start pages are a way of managing the relatively broad target groups that Jusek's Web site is targeted at. The members work within different sectors and on different tasks. Some are students and others have long work experience. In addition, the Web site functions as a work tool for the elected representatives of the association.

– However, we do not wish to customize too much. Our members move from sector to sector and students become professionals. We want them to be familiar with each other and work hard at establishing a clear profile over the entire Web site. Our strategy is to keep the information and structure as simple as possible. Jusek also has many cooperative associations, for example, publishers, insurance companies and other trade organizations. On the Web site the cooperation is visible in the form of information and links. Sven Kullberg also enjoys the internet edition of the Jusek newspaper. Thanks to this he is able to monitor the news by connecting to newspaper’s Web site. His aim is for all information and advice produced by the association to be mirrored on the internet.

– It will take a couple of years to get there, but we are working hard to improve the Web site.

Technology and Development
Jusek’s Web site is an example of how EPiServer is integrated into an existing system. Updating is a two-way process and occurs at night via a user database. The solution is designed as a personalized function for Jusek’s extranet.

The IT consultancy, Sogeti, has developed an administration module that makes it possible for Jusek to link networks of members to a group of pages in EPiServer. In this way the information is targeted at specific groups.

Sogeti have also created a community using EPiServer as support. Here, Jusek members can create their own networks, communicate and share files. Jusek chose EP Hosting Center for operation of their servers. Through the Managed Hosting service they own all hardware and have full control of the technical environment.
