File Organizer is completely integrated with EPiServer. It replaces EPiServer’s simple file manager and comes with a tool for intelligent image management. File Organizer takes good
care of your images, links and documents.

File management and structure

File Organizer stores everything in a central tree and folder structure whose files can also be assigned categories. It is easy to move and copy files, and File Organizer clearly displays where on the web site an image, document or link is used. Special metadata can be stored for each file. Centralized storage means that any changes you make are applied everywhere the file is used.

Image editing

Using File Organizer’s custom image editor, you can crop and rotate your images. Image size and file format can be changed, too. The tool also displays clear information about the image,
such as file size and pixel measurements.

Security

Permissions for others to edit or erase documents, images and links can be assigned either to a whole folder or to a certain category. Permissions can also be set for individual files.
Version management File Organizer’s version management feature automatically saves earlier versions, which are shown in an easy-to-view version list. This makes it easy to revert back to an earlier version.

Personal favourites

An editor can set folders as his/her personal favourites to make work on large web sites easier.

Using Imagemap, an editor can easily and quickly create and update an image map directly in EPiServer’s editor without knowledge of html. Imagemap gives the editor more functionality using EPiServer’s interface.

Working with images and files can sometimes feel difficult for the editor. ImageVault offers central storage for all your images, which can be easily found and used on your website. Since ImageVault also supports image formats that can be used in print, all your company’s images can be stored in the same archive. With ImageVault version 2.1 you can also store and categorize other common documents like Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Easy image editing

The new ImageVault image editor requires no installation on the user’s local computer. The editor can be used to edit images in the archive of ImageVault, but can also be used to edit images published through the EPiServer integral tool. A new feature in ImageVault 2.1 is the ImageMap support.
