Manager, Software Engineering - Stockholm, Sweden

The Manager, Software Engineering for Commerce will lead a team of developers based in Stockholm, Sweden, focusing on the Episerver Commerce product. In addition to leading and managing the development team, this role has significant technical and product backlog responsibilities. This open position comes at a particularly exciting time when we are accelerating our efforts to advance our cloud-based offerings.

The Role

 

  • Report to the Senior Director of Software Engineering leading the development for Commerce, CMS and DXC Service.
  • Collaborate with other development managers and the Chief Architect around ongoing initiatives across the department.
  • Maintain backlog and priorities together with the Director of Product Management for Commerce and the development team.
  • Support and coach the team members through performance management and skills development, one-on-ones.
  • Manage salary reviews and recruitment for the team.
  • Work on a shared backlog in close collaboration with the sister development team in Hanoi, Vietnam.
  • Participate in day-to-day operations of the development team including architectural and design discussions, code reviews, implementation etc.

Essential Requirements

  • Significant experience working with modern software development using agile methodologies.
  • Senior level developer experience in .NET, developing and maintaining large software projects including automated testing and continuous integration.
  • Experience of managing and coaching development teams.
  • Team player, enjoying solving problems together with others.
  • Knowledge of PaaS and SaaS services architecture and Microsoft Azure services and concepts.
  • Previous experience of building large-scale multi-tenant services, preferably using microservices architecture, Azure technologies and DevOps is a plus.
  • E-commerce domain knowledge is a plus.
