Episerver, the world's fastest growing provider of platforms that drive online engagement, today announces that Bink is standardizing on Episerver. Bink, the web development unit of Bonnier has begun migration of Bonnier Group websites to a private cloud as an important step to streamline online business."Our goal is to streamline the online business and thereby cut costs and increase revenue. One step to this goal is to use Episerver which allows us to reuse both the functionality and services between various websites," said Mats Göthlin, CTO at Bink.
Bink, Bonniers new technology and sales unit for web media, was formed to increase cost-effectiveness of Bonnier and to drive revenue and profitability from all websites within the Group. Bonniers ad-funded websites are moving to a cloud solution created with Episerver's hosting capabilities to build synergies, ensure efficiency and ultimately profitability. Initially, www.di.se (Dagens Industri) have migrated, to be followed by www.dn.se (Dagens Nyheter) and all sites for Bonnier Magazines.
"These are some of Sweden's major news sites. For all our sites, we have somewhere between 8 and 9 million unique visitors each week. Availability is critical and requires a competent hosting partner that can provide high capacity. Previously, we had several different suppliers. We estimate that this new solution on Episerver enables us to reduce our costs by 50 percent," said Göthlin.
"Today Episerver hosts nearly 1,000 sites and 500 servers, and we believe that the number of companies wanting to buy advanced hosting services for their business-critical Web sites is rapidly increasing. Last year, Episerver experienced a 40% increase in this line of business," said Gustav Lagercrantz, COO of Episerver.
