Lindblad Expeditions Leverages Episerver Digital Experience Cloud to Support Digital Transformation Journey

Fully Immersive Interactive Website Brings the Expedition Experience to Users’ Fingertips

Episerver™, a leading provider of digital marketing, content management and digital commerce solutions, today announced that Lindblad Expeditions, the global leader of expedition cruises and adventure travel experiences, has implemented the Episerver Digital Experience Cloud™ to support its digital transformation.

Lindblad Expeditions is an expedition travel company that works in partnership with National Geographic to inspire people to explore and care about the planet. The organizations work in tandem to produce innovative marine expedition programs and to promote conservation and sustainable tourism around the world. The partnership’s educationally oriented voyages allow guests to interact with and learn from leading scientists, naturalists and researchers while discovering stunning natural environments, above and below the sea, through state-of-the-art exploration tools.

The goal of Lindblad’s digital transformation was to bring to life a new dynamic and flexible website that fully showcased the vibrant imagery of the expeditions and travels of its customers, while making it easy to navigate for end users. Via its National Geographic partnership, Lindblad has access to some of the best photography and videography in the industry and the world. The goal was to bring those photos and expeditions online to give visitors a sneak peak of what a real life expedition is like.  

Since selecting Episerver, Lindblad has been able to successfully launch three sites – a consumer site and two B2B sites – as well as a mobile site, which is compatible with all mobile devices and is mobile search friendly.

Since implementing the Episerver Digital Experience Cloud, analytics show that Lindblad Expeditions’ bounce rate is down and its average session duration rate has increased. In the near future, Lindblad Expeditions plans to update to the latest version of the Episerver Digital Experience Cloud, to support integration with third-party email service providers and its own internal booking systems for a 360-degree customer view.
