How Episerver helped to simplify the management of Anne Frank House online
“Our mission is to bring Anne Frank’s life story to people's attention all over the world, stressing the importance of tolerance, freedom and democracy" says Ita Amahorseija, Program Manager for the Virtual Anne Frank Museum.
With The Secret Annex Online, people can now visit Anne Frank’s secret hiding place in 3D. Episerver’s open architecture enabled us to maintain this complex site effectively, with a menu structure listing the content of each room. Episerver also made it possible for our developer, LBi Lost Boys, to create a formula within the CMS to create hotspots in the rooms wherever we want, so visitors can click on different objects and areas to learn more about them.
School children are the main target group for the website, so we have made it attractive for young people. We are now upgrading to Episerver CMS 6 for new projects in the near future, such as creating a timeline of the Frank family dating back to World War I, so it will be easier for young people to visualize the history behind.
Result: Half a million visitors in the first six months following the launch of the new site, with an average visitor dwell time of 14 minutes.
