Morrisons Supermarket, headquartered in Bradford, has over 500 stores across the UK. It also runs a home delivery service. Every week, 11 million customers pass through Morrison’s doors and more than 11 million households rely on Morrison’s online home delivery service.
Morrisons sought to create a fully responsive digital experience across multiple business websites with a key focus on digital contact. The company assembled an internal team of design, development, and testing to build and maintain the new and improved internal capabilities while business carried on as usual.
Morrisons completed a full migration of content from their existing Episerver v 5.2 platform to the Episerver Digital Experience Cloud. As part of the migration, a new blog section featuring “hot” topics for consumers was implemented.
The launch of the blog has delivered incremental sales of £180k with ecommerce conversion rates +3% above average from all sources. The website has also allowed for a broader landing page strategy, with email and social media marketing now utilizing content from the blog as opposed to just providing ecommerce based landing pages. Internal processes have been simplified with a much more intuitive CMS that enables content creators to write, review and publish without the need for ‘superuser’ intervention.
